Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the Reserve Bank of India will persist in its efforts to manage excessive volatility in the rupee. She attributed the currency's significant depreciation over the past year and a half primarily to global uncertainties, despite India's strong macroeconomic fundamentals and forex reserves. The RBI aims to prevent volatility rather than fix the rupee's level, with recent measures already showing positive impact.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) रुपये में अत्यधिक अस्थिरता को प्रबंधित करने के अपने प्रयासों को जारी रखेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले डेढ़ साल में मुद्रा में आई भारी गिरावट का मुख्य कारण वैश्विक अनिश्चितताएं हैं, भले ही भारत के मैक्रोइकॉनॉमिक फंडामेंटल और विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार मजबूत हैं। RBI का लक्ष्य रुपये के स्तर को ठीक करने के बजाय अस्थिरता को रोकना है, और हाल के उपायों का पहले से ही सकारात्मक प्रभाव दिख रहा है।
