Criticise Films? Ban Songs Like Munni Badnaam Too, Says Amaal Mallik
Hindustan Times · entertainment
Following a recent chainsaw attack incident, debates on social media have questioned the role of violent A-rated films in normalising such acts. Music composer Amaal Mallik has defended cinema, stating that films alone cannot be blamed for an individual's actions. He argued that upbringing, family values, and individual thought processes are also significant factors. Mallik further questioned why popular songs with suggestive lyrics, such as 'Beedi Jalaile' and 'Munni Badnaam', are celebrated while films face criticism, suggesting a parallel should be drawn.
