CJP Activists Withdraw Plea Challenging Custody Extension in Delhi HC

Two members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, withdrew their plea in the Delhi high court challenging their extended custody. They had sought immediate release, arguing their detention was illegal and violated their personal liberty. The activists were protesting the denotification of Jantar Mantar as a protest venue. The court advised them to await proceedings before the Special Executive Magistrate and explore available legal remedies. Their custody was extended until October 21 under preventive proceedings.

कॉकक्रोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के दो सदस्य, सौरव दास और आशुतोष रंका, ने दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट में अपनी हिरासत बढ़ाने को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका वापस ले ली। उन्होंने तत्काल रिहाई की मांग की थी, यह तर्क देते हुए कि उनकी हिरासत अवैध थी और उनकी व्यक्तिगत स्वतंत्रता का उल्लंघन करती थी। कार्यकर्ता जंतर मंतर को विरोध स्थल के रूप में अमान्य करने का विरोध कर रहे थे। अदालत ने उन्हें विशेष कार्यकारी मजिस्ट्रेट के समक्ष कार्यवाही की प्रतीक्षा करने और उपलब्ध कानूनी उपचार तलाशने की सलाह दी। निवारक कार्यवाही के तहत उनकी हिरासत 21 अक्टूबर तक बढ़ा दी गई थी।
