Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced plans to offer discounted fares for the Golden Chariot luxury tourist train during its off-season. The initiative aims to make the state's historical, cultural, and natural attractions more accessible to tourists from Karnataka. Shivakumar flagged off the train's 2026-27 season in Bengaluru, emphasizing that luxury travel should not be exclusive to the wealthy. The five-night, six-day 'Pride of Karnataka' itinerary covers key destinations like Mysuru, Hampi, and Goa. The government hopes this will boost tourism, generate employment, and support local economies.
