दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने एक किरायेदार को लीज खत्म होने के बाद भी किराये की दुकान पर अवैध कब्जा बनाए रखने के लिए लगभग 24.29 लाख रुपये का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। किरायेदार ने दावा किया था कि उसने 10 लाख रुपये नकद सुरक्षा जमा के तौर पर दिए थे और जब तक वह वापस नहीं मिलते, वह दुकान खाली नहीं करेगा, लेकिन वह अदालत में इस भुगतान को साबित नहीं कर सका। अदालत ने कहा कि संपत्ति विवादों में सिर्फ दावा करना काफी नहीं है, और कानूनी स्थिति को मजबूत करने के लिए रेंट एग्रीमेंट और भुगतान की रसीदों जैसे दस्तावेजों की जरूरत होती है।
