Karnataka Govt Integrates Physical RTI Applications Under Sakala Act

Hindustan Times · india

The Karnataka government has introduced new measures to enhance transparency and accessibility in the Right to Information (RTI) process. Physical RTI applications received by public authorities must now be registered on the online portal within two days, becoming a guaranteed service under the Sakala Services Act. Failure to register will make officials accountable and eligible for compensatory relief for applicants. Additionally, the facility to file RTI applications online has been extended to all Bengaluru One, Karnataka One, and Gram One centres across the state, aiding those without internet access.
