Gods Listed as Owners of 10 Temple Lands, Compensation Stuck for 9 Years

In Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, compensation for the acquisition of lands belonging to 10 temples, including those of Shri Ram-Janki, Lord Mahadev, and Jagannath Prabhu, remains undistributed. The total compensation amount of over ₹1.37 crore was deposited in government accounts but could not be disbursed due to land records listing deities as owners without a legal representative. This issue has persisted for nine years, with accrued interest increasing the total amount to over ₹2.86 crore.

छत्तीसगढ़ के रायगढ़ में श्री राम-जानकी, महादेव और जगन्नाथ प्रभु समेत 10 मंदिरों की अधिग्रहित ज़मीनों का मुआवज़ा अभी तक बंटा नहीं है। कुल 1.37 करोड़ रुपये से ज़्यादा की मुआवज़े की रकम सरकारी खातों में जमा तो हो गई, लेकिन ज़मीन के रिकॉर्ड में मालिकों के तौर पर देवी-देवताओं के नाम होने और उनका कोई कानूनी प्रतिनिधि न होने की वजह से इसका वितरण नहीं हो पा रहा है। यह समस्या पिछले 9 सालों से बनी हुई है और ब्याज जुड़ने के बाद कुल रकम 2.86 करोड़ रुपये से ज़्यादा हो गई है।
