The Supreme Court has granted the High Powered Enquiry Committee (HPEC) one month to submit an initial fact-finding report on the violence during student protests at Jantar Mantar in July. The committee, chaired by former Supreme Court judge R Subhash Reddy, stated it had received very few complaints despite issuing multiple notices. The court directed that all related petitions, videos, and complaints be forwarded to the panel. The protests were initially organised demanding the resignation of the Union education minister over the NEET-UG paper leak.
