Indian-origin woman jailed for Covid loan fraud

An Indian-origin woman has been sentenced to over two years in prison in the UK for defrauding the government of approximately Rs 2.8 crore through a COVID-19 loan scheme. The woman exploited the system by submitting fraudulent applications to obtain funds meant for businesses struggling during the pandemic.

यूके में भारतीय मूल की एक महिला को कोरोना वायरस लोन स्कीम के तहत सरकार से करीब 2.8 करोड़ रुपये की धोखाधड़ी करने के आरोप में दो साल से ज़्यादा की सज़ा सुनाई गई है। महिला ने महामारी के दौरान मुश्किलों का सामना कर रहे बिज़नेस के लिए रखे गए पैसों को हड़पने के लिए फर्जी आवेदन जमा किए थे।
