Pakistan is facing a severe gas crisis as natural gas is available for only six hours daily and LPG prices have dramatically increased. Families in Rawalpindi are resorting to cheaper alternatives like firewood, coal, and sawdust to cook their meals. The cost of LPG cylinders has surged significantly, with domestic cylinders now costing PKR13,500 and refills reaching PKR5,000. This shift to traditional fuels is driven by inflation and unreliable gas supplies, forcing households to spend substantially more on basic cooking needs.
