A cancer center established in Rwanda in 2012 has significantly improved access to treatment in the country. The Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence, supported by Jeff Gordon's foundation, has treated over 18,000 patients by 2025. The initiative also strengthened cancer screening programs and provided crucial medical training for local healthcare professionals. This development highlights how dedicated, locally delivered care can expand treatment access in resource-limited settings. The center has also developed its own pathology capacity, processing most samples on-site.

जेफ गॉर्डन फाउंडेशन ने रवांडा में कैंसर सेंटर खोलने में की मदद

रवांडा में 2012 में स्थापित एक कैंसर सेंटर ने देश में इलाज की पहुँच में काफी सुधार किया है। जेफ गॉर्डन के फाउंडेशन के सहयोग से बने बुटारो कैंसर सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस ने 2025 तक 18,000 से अधिक मरीजों का इलाज किया है। इस पहल ने कैंसर स्क्रीनिंग कार्यक्रमों को भी मजबूत किया और स्थानीय स्वास्थ्य पेशेवरों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण चिकित्सा प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया। यह विकास दर्शाता है कि कैसे समर्पित, स्थानीय स्तर पर दी जाने वाली देखभाल सीमित संसाधनों वाले स्थानों में उपचार की पहुँच का विस्तार कर सकती है। सेंटर ने अपनी पैथोलॉजी क्षमता भी विकसित की है, जिसमें अधिकांश सैंपल ऑन-साइट प्रोसेस किए जाते हैं।
