Bengaluru Customs Seizes Nearly 1,000kg Hydroponic Ganja in 6 Months

Bengaluru Customs officials at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) seized 27.6 kg of hydroponic ganja from two passengers arriving from Bangkok this past Sunday. In the first six months of the current financial year, nearly 1,000 kg of this substance was seized, almost matching the total from the previous year. Officials attribute the rise to increased smuggling and vigilant detection efforts, with Bangkok being the primary source. The seized ganja, estimated to be worth over Rs 1,042.8 crore in the past 18 months, is disposed of through incineration.

केम्पेगौडा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट (KIA) पर बेंगलुरु कस्टम्स अधिकारियों ने पिछले रविवार को बैंकॉक से आए दो यात्रियों से 27.6 किलो हाइड्रोपोनिक गांजा जब्त किया। चालू वित्तीय वर्ष के पहले छह महीनों में, इस पदार्थ की लगभग 1,000 किलो की जब्ती हुई, जो पिछले साल के कुल के लगभग बराबर है। अधिकारियों ने इस वृद्धि का श्रेय बढ़ते तस्करी और सतर्क पहचान प्रयासों को दिया है, जिसमें बैंकॉक मुख्य स्रोत है। पिछले 18 महीनों में जब्त किए गए गांजे की अनुमानित कीमत 1,042.8 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक है, जिसका निपटान भस्मीकरण द्वारा किया जाता है।
