Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu stated that while AI is accelerating software development, it has not yet achieved a tenfold or hundredfold increase in productivity. He estimates current AI-driven productivity gains are between 25% to 50% on finished products, though prototyping is much faster. Vembu also highlighted significant AI-related cost increases for companies, including hardware, token spending, and GPU hosting. He anticipates a future 10x productivity leap driven by advancements in automatic program verification, which could impact software jobs.
