Rajnath Singh Pledges Technologically-Empowered Military for Future Challenges

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated the government is committed to building a technologically-empowered military capable of addressing current and future challenges. He chaired a defence ministry consultative committee meeting in Jaisalmer, focusing on modernizing India's defense forces. Key areas discussed included capability development, jointness, indigenous manufacturing, and harnessing emerging technologies like AI and autonomous systems. The defence budget for FY 2026-27 was increased to Rs 7.85 lakh crore, with a significant portion allocated for modernization and capital procurement.

रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा कि सरकार वर्तमान और भविष्य की चुनौतियों से निपटने में सक्षम एक तकनीकी रूप से सशक्त सेना बनाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। उन्होंने जैसलमेर में रक्षा मंत्रालय की परामर्शदात्री समिति की बैठक की अध्यक्षता की, जिसमें भारत की रक्षा सेनाओं के आधुनिकीकरण पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया। चर्चा के प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में क्षमता विकास, संयुक्तता, स्वदेशी विनिर्माण, और AI तथा स्वायत्त प्रणालियों जैसी उभरती प्रौद्योगिकियों का उपयोग शामिल था। वित्त वर्ष 2026-27 के लिए रक्षा बजट को बढ़ाकर 7.85 लाख करोड़ रुपये कर दिया गया है, जिसमें से एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा आधुनिकीकरण और पूंजीगत खरीद के लिए आवंटित किया गया है।
