Army Flats Demolition Handover Stalled As AWHO Representatives Fail To Appear

The handover of 208 apartments in Kochi's Chander Kunj Army complex for demolition has been stalled because Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) representatives did not attend a crucial meeting. The committee, formed by the Kerala High Court, was meant to oversee the process, with apartment owners ready to hand over keys. AWHO cited a delay in authorization from their Delhi headquarters, but owners dismissed this, noting AWHO's online participation in prior meetings. The High Court had ordered the demolition of towers B and C due to structural deficiencies.
