India Flags Chinese-Linked AI Tools in Financial Sector Hacking Campaign
Economic Times - Tech · technology
India's cybersecurity agency, CERT-In, has identified a hacking group named 'Crafty Falcon' responsible for a wave of AI-driven attacks targeting financial firms. At least two of the four identified tools, ARTEX and PentAGI, have been linked to China. These tools automate cyberattacks at high speed, breaching non-bank lenders, fintech firms, and cryptocurrency exchanges. The advisory highlights the ongoing threat, with attackers exploiting vulnerabilities and timing breaches during low-monitoring periods to evade detection. CERT-In did not attribute the attacks to any state actor.
