The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) have strongly condemned social media statements demanding the resignation of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant. These calls arose after CJI Kant remarked that protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar were a law and order issue, not within his domain. The Kerala Congress unit had initially sought the CJI's resignation over his remarks. Both SCBA and SCAORA stated that such demands undermine the judiciary's dignity and public confidence.
