Indian Universities Slip in QS Asia Rankings; None in Top 50 for Second Year
Hindustan Times · education
India's top universities have declined further in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027, with no institutions reaching the top 50 for the second consecutive year. Despite an increase in the total number of Indian institutions represented to 325, making India the second most represented country, six key institutions including IITs and IISc Bengaluru fell within the top 100. While India excels in research output, universities struggle to translate this into research impact, with weak academic reputation and internationalisation scores also contributing to the decline.
