Dalit Man Assaulted For Worshipping At Ballia Temple; Two Booked

In Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, two men have been booked for allegedly assaulting a Dalit man over his presence and prayers at a Kali temple. The accused reportedly used caste-based slurs against the victim, Nageena Ram, and assaulted him on October 18. They allegedly locked him inside the temple premises and later threatened to kill him at his home. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, with an investigation underway.
