India's primary market is experiencing a boom, with a significant increase in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) despite a sluggish secondary equity market. The number of IPOs launched in September rose from 12 in 2024 to 32 in 2026, a 167% increase over two years. Issue amounts more than tripled during the same period, indicating strong investor interest in new listings. This trend contrasts sharply with the decline observed in major equity indices like the Sensex and Nifty.
