Lockheed Martin Offers India C-130J Production Expansion In $10.5 Billion Bid

Lockheed Martin has proposed expanding its production capabilities in India if it wins a bid to supply 60 medium transport aircraft for $10.5 billion to the Indian armed forces. The offer includes 12 aircraft in flyaway condition and 48 to be manufactured in India. The company also plans to upgrade the Indian Air Force's existing 12 C-130J fleet. Lockheed Martin has a long-standing partnership with Tata for C-130J components, which it aims to expand. This move could enhance India's indigenous aerospace manufacturing capacity and modernize its air transport fleet.
