UPI Charges Introduced For Merchants From October 15

The National Payments Corporation of India will introduce charges on UPI transactions from October 15. A 0.4% merchant discount rate (MDR) will apply to UPI transactions above Rs 2,000, capped at Rs 300. Utility payments, fuel, insurance, and rail tickets will have a flat Rs 5 fee. Crucially, person-to-person transactions, payments up to Rs 2,000, and small merchants receiving under Rs 1 lakh monthly will remain free. Merchants will bear these costs, not customers.

अक्टूबर से UPI ट्रांजैक्शन पर NPCI कुछ चार्ज लगाने जा रहा है। 2000 रुपये से ज़्यादा के ट्रांजैक्शन पर 0.4% MDR लगेगा, जिसकी ऊपरी सीमा 300 रुपये होगी। यूटिलिटी बिल, फ्यूल, बीमा और रेल टिकट के लिए 5 रुपये का फिक्स चार्ज होगा। अच्छी बात ये है कि लोगों के बीच पैसे भेजना, 2000 रुपये तक के पेमेंट और छोटे व्यापारी जिनका मंथली टर्नओवर 1 लाख से कम है, उन पर कोई चार्ज नहीं लगेगा। ये चार्ज व्यापारी देंगे, ग्राहक नहीं।
