Congress Alleges Shah Instigated Voter Removals

Times of India · politics

Congress has accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of orchestrating the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, calling it a 'Shah Instigated Removal' of voters. The party claims 7.8 crore names were deleted in the first two phases, with another 6.18 crore deleted in Phase 3. Congress alleges this amounts to a staggering 32% of voters facing deletion or risk of deletion, disproportionately affecting disadvantaged sections and women.
