India's UN envoy, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, criticized the UN Security Council for its inability to resolve major global conflicts, stating that post-WWII privileges cannot compensate for a lack of fair representation. He argued that an organization unable to reform its key body will struggle to maintain authority in a world vastly changed since 1945. Parvathaneni highlighted that the council, established eight decades ago, fails to adequately represent the global population, particularly Asia, which has over 60% of the world's people but only one permanent seat.
