CNG Price Hiked by ₹1/kg in Mumbai, Increasing Costs for Drivers

Hindustan Times · business

Compressed natural gas (CNG) prices in Mumbai have increased by ₹1 per kg, reaching ₹89 per kg. This rise adds to the operating expenses of autorickshaw and taxi drivers who are already facing escalating costs. Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) cited a sharp increase in the cost of imported regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) and global energy market volatility as reasons for the hike. MGL stated the increase is necessary to partially offset higher input costs and ensure continued CNG supply. This follows a previous ₹2-per-kg increase in July.
