Andhra Pradesh's state-owned thermal power stations generated a record 19,268 million units of electricity in the first half of FY 2026-27, marking a 13.10% increase from the previous year. This surge, amounting to an additional 2,231 MU, was attributed to a robust fuel security system and advance power purchase plans implemented due to El Niño advisories. The average availability of thermal power stations improved significantly, alongside a higher Plant Load Factor. Alternative coal sources were secured to mitigate supply issues from Singareni Collieries.
