Telangana RTC Union Polls Underway; Results Expected October 17

Elections for the recognised union of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) began on Friday, October 9, 2026, with thousands of workers participating. A total of 34,899 workers are eligible to vote, with 13,797 from the Greater Hyderabad Zone. The last union recognition polls were held in July 2016. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has addressed issues like fitment and compassionate appointments. Union leaders continue to advocate for the merger of the transport corporation with the government.

तेलंगाना स्टेट रोड ट्रांसपोर्ट कॉर्पोरेशन (TGSRTC) की मान्यता प्राप्त यूनियन के लिए चुनाव शुक्रवार, 9 अक्टूबर, 2026 को शुरू हो गए, जिसमें हजारों कर्मचारी भाग ले रहे हैं। कुल 34,899 कर्मचारी वोट देने के योग्य हैं, जिनमें से 13,797 ग्रेटर हैदराबाद ज़ोन से हैं। पिछली यूनियन मान्यता चुनाव जुलाई 2016 में हुए थे। परिवहन मंत्री पोन्नम प्रभाकर ने फिटमेंट और दयापूर्ण नियुक्तियों जैसे मुद्दों को संबोधित किया है। यूनियन नेता परिवहन निगम के सरकार में विलय की वकालत करना जारी रखे हुए हैं।
