The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to take action regarding the unrestricted sale of firecrackers in Delhi markets, despite existing restrictions. A newspaper report highlighted that various types of firecrackers, both licensed and unlicensed, are readily available. The court emphasized the need to ensure compliance with its previous orders, including the allowance of green crackers during specific hours on November 7 and 8. The bench noted that while a complete ban might seem ideal, more data is needed to determine its effectiveness against pollution.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को दिल्ली के बाज़ारों में पटाखों की बेरोकटोक बिक्री पर कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया है, भले ही पहले से ही प्रतिबंध लागू हैं। एक अखबार की रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है कि लाइसेंस वाले और बिना लाइसेंस वाले, दोनों तरह के पटाखे आसानी से मिल रहे हैं। कोर्ट ने 7 और 8 नवंबर को तय घंटों के दौरान ग्रीन पटाखों की अनुमति सहित अपने पिछले आदेशों का पालन सुनिश्चित करने की ज़रूरत पर ज़ोर दिया। बेंच ने कहा कि जहाँ पूरी तरह से प्रतिबंध लगाना आदर्श लग सकता है, वहीं प्रदूषण के खिलाफ इसकी प्रभावशीलता का पता लगाने के लिए और अधिक डेटा की आवश्यकता है।
