Govt May Increase Jail Term For Exam Cheating

The government is planning to amend the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, to curb paper leaks and malpractices. Sources indicate the jail term for offenders may be increased beyond the current 10-year ceiling. The proposed Bill, set for Cabinet discussion, aims to strengthen penalties for cheating in public examinations like UPSC, SSC, and NTA tests.

सरकार पब्लिक एग्ज़ामिनेशन (प्रिवेंशन ऑफ अनफेयर मीन्स) एक्ट, 2024 में बदलाव करने की सोच रही है ताकि पेपर लीक और धांधली रोकी जा सके। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, दोषियों की जेल की सज़ा 10 साल से ज़्यादा बढ़ाई जा सकती है। इस नए बिल पर कैबिनेट में चर्चा होगी, जिसका मकसद UPSC, SSC और NTA जैसी परीक्षाओं में नकल करने वालों के लिए सज़ा को और सख़्त बनाना है।
