गुरुवार को भारतीय बेंचमार्क स्टॉक इंडेक्स, Sensex और Nifty, में ज़बरदस्त तेज़ी देखी गई, जो तीन हफ़्ते के उच्चतम स्तर पर बंद हुए। Sensex 1,534 अंक, यानी 2 प्रतिशत से ज़्यादा बढ़कर 74,315.61 पर बंद हुआ, जबकि Nifty 374.65 अंक, यानी 1.66 प्रतिशत बढ़कर 22,997.35 पर पहुँच गया। बैंकिंग, IT और Reliance Industries के शेयरों में ज़ोरदार ख़रीदारी, साथ ही कच्चे तेल की कीमतों में नरमी ने बाज़ार में उछाल को बढ़ावा दिया। इक्विटी टैक्सेशन पर संभावित पुनर्विचार की उम्मीदों और भारतीय इक्विटी के लिए बेहतर सापेक्ष अपील ने भी निवेशकों का भरोसा बढ़ाया।
