लखनऊ में किंग जॉर्ज मेडिकल यूनिवर्सिटी (केजीएमयू) को एक्यूट केयर प्रिसिजन मेडिसिन में उत्तर प्रदेश के पहले सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस के रूप में नामित किया गया है। इस पहचान का लक्ष्य उन्नत नैदानिक और चिकित्सीय सेवाओं का विस्तार करके गंभीर रूप से बीमार मरीजों के इलाज को बेहतर बनाना है। प्रिसिजन मेडिसिन एक समान दृष्टिकोण से हटकर व्यक्तिगत आनुवंशिक प्रोफाइल और स्थितियों के अनुसार उपचार तैयार करती है। लाभों में मल्टीप्लेक्स पीसीआर परीक्षण के माध्यम से तेजी से संक्रमण का पता लगाना शामिल है, जिससे टर्नअराउंड समय 72 घंटे से घटकर आठ घंटे हो जाता है, और आणविक स्क्रीनिंग की लागत में काफी कमी आती है, जिससे उन्नत निदान अधिक सुलभ हो जाता है।
