Bombay HC: 2010 Mumbai ceremony not valid Parsi

The Bombay High Court has dismissed a divorce suit filed by a Parsi woman, ruling that a 2010 ceremony in Mumbai was not a valid marriage under the Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act. Justice Somasekhar Sundaresan stated the court lacks jurisdiction to hear the case. The husband had argued the event was a blessing ceremony, not a marriage. A jury of Parsi delegates unanimously agreed, noting a missing marriage document.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने एक पारसी महिला की तलाक की अर्जी खारिज कर दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि 2010 में मुंबई में हुई एक रस्म शादी नहीं थी। जस्टिस सोमशेखर सुंदरेसन ने कहा कि कोर्ट के पास इस मामले को सुनने का अधिकार नहीं है। पति का कहना था कि यह सिर्फ एक आशीर्वाद समारोह था, शादी नहीं। पारसी प्रतिनिधियों की जूरी ने भी इस पर सहमति जताई और कहा कि शादी का कोई कागज़ नहीं था।
