Stolen Idol Returns to Kumbakonam Temple After 70

A bronze idol of Thirumangai Alwar, stolen from Sri Soundararaja Perumal Temple in Kumbakonam between 1957 and 1967, has been traced to the Ashmolean Museum in the UK. The Idol Wing-CID registered a case in February 2020 following a complaint about the theft of four idols.

कुंभकोणम के श्री सुंदरराजा पेरुमल मंदिर से 1957 और 1967 के बीच चोरी हुई तिरुमंगलई अल्वार की कांस्य प्रतिमा ब्रिटेन के एशमोलियन म्यूजियम में मिली है। चार मूर्तियों की चोरी की शिकायत के बाद, आइडल विंग-CID ने फरवरी 2020 में मामला दर्ज किया था। यह प्रतिमा उसी चोरी का हिस्सा है।
