Commuters reported waiting 40-60 minutes, with queues stretching significantly. An estimated 5-6 lakh vehicles converged on the route, overwhelming its exit points. Traffic police attributed the congestion partly to navigation apps directing drivers to the new corridor without reflecting the developing traffic, leading to a sudden concentration of vehicles. Authorities temporarily halted entry from one side to manage the gridlock.
