Nepal Floods: 1,453 Dead, 5,200 Missing

A month after devastating flash floods hit Nepal's central and northern districts, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority reports 1,453 deaths and 5,285 people still missing. Of the recovered bodies, 1,113 have been identified and handed over to families. Security agencies have provided medical treatment to around 11,000 affected individuals. Nepal Police is using DNA profiling to identify fragmented remains, collecting samples from bodies and relatives of the missing to aid identification efforts.
