Rat Eradication Leads to Record Seabird Breeding

A decade-long conservation effort on St Agnes and Gugh in the Isles of Scilly has yielded remarkable results for Manx shearwaters. Following a successful rat eradication program initiated in 2013, the number of apparently occupied breeding sites for Manx shearwaters has reached a record 225 in the latest 2025 monitoring data. This represents a significant increase from the 22 pairs recorded before the project began.

आइल्स ऑफ सिली में सेंट एग्नेस और गुघ द्वीपों पर दस साल के संरक्षण के काम से मैनक्स शीयरवाटर पक्षी के लिए शानदार नतीजे मिले हैं। 2013 में शुरू हुए चूहे खत्म करने के सफल कार्यक्रम के बाद, 2025 के ताज़ा आंकड़ों के अनुसार मैनक्स शीयरवाटर के रहने की जगहों की संख्या रिकॉर्ड 225 हो गई है। यह परियोजना शुरू होने से पहले दर्ज किए गए 22 जोड़ों की तुलना में एक बड़ी बढ़ोतरी है।
