Bangladesh's government has accused opposition leader Sheikh Hasina of instigating violent protests by garment workers demanding higher wages. Zahidur Rahman, an advisor to the Prime Minister, stated that disruptive activities may continue as long as Hasina is alive. The protests, now in their fourth day, have led to the closure of approximately 1,000 factories, impacting Bangladesh's crucial readymade garment industry, which accounts for over 80% of the country's export earnings. Authorities have arrested over 100 individuals, with about 50 reportedly linked to the Awami League.
