Global South Faces '4F Crisis' of Finance, Fuel, Food, Fertilisers, Says Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated that countries in the Global South are grappling with a significant "4F crisis" encompassing finance, fuel, food, and fertilisers. He urged the Global North to take greater responsibility in addressing these challenges, including derisking the global economy. Jaishankar highlighted that nations far from conflicts like those in Ukraine and West Asia are disproportionately bearing the economic costs. He also stressed that terrorism as an instrument of statecraft is unacceptable and cannot be justified, urging for stronger global resolve against it.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने कहा कि वैश्विक दक्षिण के देश वित्त, ईंधन, भोजन और उर्वरकों को समेटे एक महत्वपूर्ण '4F संकट' से जूझ रहे हैं। उन्होंने वैश्विक अर्थव्यवस्था को जोखिम-मुक्त बनाने सहित इन चुनौतियों से निपटने में वैश्विक उत्तर से अधिक जिम्मेदारी लेने का आग्रह किया। जयशंकर ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि यूक्रेन और पश्चिम एशिया जैसे संघर्षों से दूर के देश आर्थिक लागत का अनुपातहीन रूप से खामियाजा भुगत रहे हैं। उन्होंने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि राज्य-कला के एक साधन के रूप में आतंकवाद अस्वीकार्य है और इसे उचित नहीं ठहराया जा सकता, और इसके खिलाफ मजबूत वैश्विक संकल्प का आग्रह किया।
