Ex-Minister Alleges CEC Violated Electoral Law

Former Union minister RK Singh has accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and his associates of violating the law. Singh stated that the order for a special intensive revision of electoral rolls was illegal. He cited Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, which permits such exercises only in specific, documented cases within a constituency. Singh questioned if Kumar was directed by his superiors, suggesting a potential abuse of power in the electoral process.

पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री आरके सिंह ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञान प्रकाश और उनके सहयोगियों पर कानून तोड़ने का आरोप लगाया है। सिंह ने कहा कि मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन संशोधन का आदेश अवैध था। उन्होंने जन प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1950 की धारा 21 का हवाला दिया, जो किसी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के भीतर केवल विशिष्ट, प्रलेखित मामलों में ऐसे अभ्यास की अनुमति देती है। सिंह ने सवाल उठाया कि क्या कुमार को उनके वरिष्ठों द्वारा निर्देशित किया गया था, जिससे चुनावी प्रक्रिया में शक्ति के दुरुपयोग की संभावना का संकेत मिला।
