The alleged incidents, occurring from October 18 to 20 during Durga Puja festivities, involved coercion to renounce their faith. Venugopal described the events at Patlapur village as "deeply disturbing" and called for stringent action against the perpetrators. The families, who converted 18 months ago, reported threats, physical assault, and forced participation in religious rituals.
