CERT-In Advises Indians To Enable MFA For Digital Safety

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has urged all users to enable MFA on their accounts for enhanced digital safety. This advisory comes during October, designated as National Cyber Security Awareness Month, with the theme 'Develop a Culture of Cyber Hygiene'. CERT-In recommends using authenticator apps or hardware security keys instead of SMS-based verification codes. Users are also advised to avoid approving unfamiliar authentication requests, ensuring their accounts have an extra layer of security beyond just a password.

इंडियन कंप्यूटर इमरजेंसी रिस्पांस टीम (CERT-In) ने सभी यूज़र्स से डिजिटल सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए अपने अकाउंट्स पर एमएफए (MFA) इनेबल करने की अपील की है। यह सलाह अक्टूबर में आई है, जिसे नेशनल साइबर सिक्योरिटी अवेयरनेस मंथ के तौर पर मनाया जा रहा है, और इस साल की थीम 'डेवलप ए कल्चर ऑफ साइबर हाइजीन' है। CERT-In ने एसएमएस-आधारित वेरिफिकेशन कोड्स की जगह ऑथेंटिकेटर ऐप्स या हार्डवेयर सिक्योरिटी कीज़ का इस्तेमाल करने की सलाह दी है। यूज़र्स को यह भी सलाह दी जाती है कि वे अनजानी ऑथेंटिकेशन रिक्वेस्ट्स को अप्रूव करने से बचें, ताकि उनके अकाउंट्स में पासवर्ड के अलावा सुरक्षा की एक अतिरिक्त लेयर हो।
