Delhi Police Deny Permission for Anti-EC Protest at Jantar Mantar

Delhi Police have stated that no permission has been granted for any organisation to protest against the Election Commission at Jantar Mantar this week. Despite the denial, security has been heightened across Lutyens' Delhi due to expectations of a large turnout. The All India Students’ Association (AISA) had planned a protest seeking the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions. Other groups, including the Indian Youth Congress and the INDIA bloc, have also faced similar denials for planned demonstrations.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने कहा है कि इस हफ़्ते जंतर मंतर पर चुनाव आयोग के खिलाफ़ विरोध प्रदर्शन के लिए किसी भी संगठन को इजाज़त नहीं दी गई है। इजाज़त न मिलने के बावजूद, बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के आने की उम्मीद के चलते लुटियंस दिल्ली में सुरक्षा बढ़ा दी गई है। ऑल इंडिया स्टूडेंट्स एसोसिएशन (AISA) ने चुनावी रोल में कथित गड़बड़ियों को लेकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त को हटाने की मांग करते हुए विरोध प्रदर्शन की योजना बनाई थी। इंडियन यूथ कांग्रेस और INDIA गठबंधन सहित अन्य समूहों को भी नियोजित प्रदर्शनों के लिए इसी तरह के इनकार का सामना करना पड़ा है।
