The NSUI's presidential candidate, Vijay Shankar Meena, had alleged widespread rigging and demanded a re-election. The court advised the petitioner to approach the university's Grievance Redressal Committee with their complaints and evidence. The ABVP had won the presidential post in the recent elections, defeating the NSUI candidate by over 2,000 votes.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने NSUI द्वारा 2026-27 टर्म के लिए DUSU चुनाव नतीजों को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी है। NSUI के अध्यक्ष पद के उम्मीदवार, विजय शंकर मीणा, ने बड़े पैमाने पर धांधली का आरोप लगाया था और फिर से चुनाव कराने की मांग की थी। अदालत ने याचिकाकर्ता को अपनी शिकायतों और सबूतों के साथ विश्वविद्यालय की Grievance Redressal Committee से संपर्क करने की सलाह दी। हाल के चुनावों में ABVP ने अध्यक्ष पद जीता था, NSUI उम्मीदवार को 2,000 से अधिक वोटों से हराया था।
