A section of private bus operators in Kerala have called off their planned strike, which was set to begin on Tuesday. The strike was announced in protest against the government's alleged inaction regarding the bus industry, particularly after the introduction of the 'Priyadarshini' free travel scheme. Following discussions with Transport Minister C.P. John on Monday, the operators were assured that their demands would be considered favourably. The joint action committee, comprising several prominent bus owners' associations, has now withdrawn from the planned agitation.
