New LPG connections remain on hold due to the current geopolitical situation in West Asia, the Petroleum Ministry has stated. This temporary measure affects applications pending since March. Distributors are offering 5-kg free-trade cylinders and 10-kg composite cylinders as alternatives to consumers. The ongoing tensions have disrupted supply chains, impacting the availability of new connections for households across the country.

पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय ने बताया है कि पश्चिम एशिया में मौजूदा भू-राजनीतिक तनाव के कारण नए एलपीजी कनेक्शन फिलहाल रोके गए हैं। यह रोक मार्च से लंबित आवेदनों पर लागू है। उपभोक्ताओं को विकल्प के तौर पर 5 किलो वाले फ्री-ट्रेड सिलेंडर और 10 किलो वाले कंपोजिट सिलेंडर दिए जा रहे हैं। इस तनाव की वजह से सप्लाई चेन बाधित हुई है, जिससे देश भर में घरों के लिए नए कनेक्शन की उपलब्धता प्रभावित हुई है।
