Campaign Documents Challenges Facing Kannada Schools Across India

A year-long campaign is documenting the struggles of Kannada-medium schools across Karnataka's 31 districts and 239 taluks, as well as in border regions of neighbouring states. The initiative aims to prevent school closures, address issues like low enrollment and teachers teaching in Kannada medium schools in other languages, and ensure children can access education. The campaign has supported around 170 schools with resources and advocates for policies to preserve the language and culture through education. It also documents Kannada heritage and recognizes language promoters.

एक साल का अभियान कर्नाटक के 31 जिलों और 239 तालुकों के साथ-साथ पड़ोसी राज्यों के सीमावर्ती इलाकों में कन्नड़-माध्यम स्कूलों के संघर्षों का दस्तावेजीकरण कर रहा है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य स्कूलों को बंद होने से रोकना, कम नामांकन और कन्नड़ माध्यम स्कूलों में अन्य भाषाओं में पढ़ाने वाले शिक्षकों जैसे मुद्दों को संबोधित करना और यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि बच्चों को शिक्षा मिल सके। अभियान ने लगभग 170 स्कूलों को संसाधनों के साथ समर्थन दिया है और शिक्षा के माध्यम से भाषा और संस्कृति को संरक्षित करने वाली नीतियों की वकालत करता है। यह कन्नड़ विरासत का भी दस्तावेजीकरण करता है और भाषा प्रमोटरों को मान्यता देता है।
