Uttarakhand HC Questions Massive NEET Admissions Under Freedom Fighter Quota

The Uttarakhand High Court has expressed strong displeasure over the alleged misuse of freedom fighter dependent certificates during NEET-UG counselling. A Public Interest Litigation has been filed demanding a CBI inquiry into certificates issued and benefits claimed since the state's formation. The court questioned how a large number of admissions were secured under the quota given the limited number of freedom fighters. It has directed the state government to submit a response within 24 hours, warning of serious consequences if they fail to comply.

उत्तराखंड हाईकोर्ट ने NEET-UG काउंसलिंग के दौरान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी आश्रित प्रमाण पत्रों के कथित दुरुपयोग पर कड़ी नाराजगी जताई है। राज्य बनने के बाद से जारी किए गए प्रमाण पत्रों और दावों की गई सुविधाओं की CBI जांच की मांग को लेकर एक जनहित याचिका दायर की गई है। कोर्ट ने सवाल उठाया कि सीमित स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की संख्या को देखते हुए कोटे के तहत इतनी बड़ी संख्या में एडमिशन कैसे हुए। इसने राज्य सरकार को 24 घंटे के भीतर जवाब दाखिल करने का निर्देश दिया है, और चेतावनी दी है कि अनुपालन न करने पर गंभीर परिणाम भुगतने होंगे।
