Confidential medical records of blood donors were stolen from Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bengaluru. An unidentified person allegedly gained unauthorized entry into the blood bank and stole documents containing details of HIV, HCV, HBsAg, and other blood-transfusion-related tests. The records were from May, June, and July. Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are investigating, though the lack of CCTV footage complicates the probe. The incident raises concerns about patient data privacy.
