IEX has announced that its subsidiary, Indian Coal Exchange, has applied for a licence with the Coal Controller Organisation. Incorporated on June 1, 2026, with an authorised share capital of Rs 100 crore, Indian Coal Exchange aims to establish a physical delivery-based coal trading platform. This new exchange will provide an organised, transparent, and technology-enabled marketplace for coal trading. By connecting buyers and sellers on a neutral platform, it intends to facilitate efficient price discovery and enhance market access for coal transactions.
