The New Mangalore Port Displaced Mogaveera Naalku Patna Samyuktha Sabha has submitted a charter of demands to local leaders, seeking management rights over the proposed Kulai fishing harbour. The community, whose elders surrendered land for the New Mangalore Port in the 1960s, claims promised benefits like jobs and CSR funds were not adequately provided. They are appealing for the Kulai Fishermen’s Cooperative Society to manage the harbour's operations, including the supply of essential resources and fee collection.
